How to Choose the Perfect Plush Toy for Your Little One
Share
Walk into any toy aisle and you'll see walls of plush toys. So how do you pick the one? Here's our simple, parent-tested guide.
Start with softness
The number-one rule: squish it. A truly great plush should feel cloud-soft and spring back when squeezed. Premium polyester plush with a fluffy finish is the gold standard — it's the difference between a toy that's cuddled nightly and one that gathers dust.
Pick the right size
For toddlers, a 25–35cm plush is ideal — big enough to hug, small enough to carry everywhere. Older kids love statement pieces: giant goose pillows or oversized teddy bears that double as bedroom decor.
Check the safety basics
Look for age guidance (0 months+ is ideal for the littlest ones), securely stitched features rather than small loose parts, and recognised safety certifications. All our plushies are made for worry-free cuddles.
Match their personality
Animal lover? Go for a lifelike sheep, penguin, or frog. Silly and playful? A funny bat or banana dinosaur will get giggles. Into cute food? Bubble-tea and fruit plushies are irresistible.
Think about where it'll live
Bedtime buddy, travel companion, or shelf display? Smaller plushies (10–16cm) are perfect bag fillers and travel pals; larger ones anchor a cosy bedroom corner.
The golden test
If you can't resist squeezing it in the shop, it's the one. Trust the squish.
